Today I am closing my most recent partnership with a bookshop called “Palavra de Viajante“, (traveller’s word). I left Lisbon, thinking I’d lack time to draw all I was about to see and get to know. I wasn’t that far off from how things have turned out to be, but the truth is there was something more that I needed to get balance. I’d long wished I could have a friend who’d tell me life stories every time I felt like hearing them. Friendships and daily interactions eventually become a repeated history with an expiration date. The approach is mostly superficial and the exposure of one’s personality will be within the limits of what’s politically correct. That’s hardly ever realistic or emotional. I get to a point where I’ve talked to so many people for many hours, that I just want to get to listen instead. “Tell me something new and revealing, but don’t waste my time.”

Hoje formalizo a mais recente parceria com a Livraria “Palavra de Viajante“. Saí de Lisboa, convencido, que havia faltar tempo para desenhar o tanto que iria ver e conhecer. Não me enganei por muito, mas a verdade é que algo fazia falta ao equilíbrio. Há muito que queria ter um amigo que me contasse histórias de vida sempre que me desse na gana. As amizades e contactos diários, começam a ser uma história repetida com prazo limitado. As abordagens são grande parte superficiais e a exposição da personalidade expressa-se pelo politicamente correcto, poucas vezes realistas e emocionais. Chega um momento que já falei tantas horas para tantas pessoas que só me apetece é ouvir os outros: «Conta-me algo de novo e revelador sem me fazeres perder tempo.»

So there is a new product coming in Portugal for surfers with the name of “handplane”.
Its light, small, easy to use and totally made in Portugal!
Since I don’t have space to travel with my longboard and I will pass in a lot of surf spots, this is a good choice for a bagpacker like me.
I am proud to represent the AHUA surf boards in World Sketching Tour.
They still need some finance support to reach the 3000€ and make the first stock of handplanes.

This partnership is a good motivation for my travel in many ways!

Mas é, directo ao assunto, que vos informo que o WST irá ser acompanhado pela revista “Visão Vida & Viagens“. As aparições serão mensais ou bimensais, dependendo dos contornos da viagem e disponibilidade. De realçar o entusiasmo e companheirismo do director geral da revista, demonstrado desde o primeiro minuto que trocamos palavras. Perante isto só posso estar bastante feliz e entusiasmado com o futuro do World Sketching Tour.
